How To Fix Could Not Find File Dpinst
Dpinst failing to instal INf file
Hello guys,
Though I take used dpinst.exe earlier to install driver files this fourth dimension i am non able to..
DpInst doesn't seem to support silent switches. (/s or /q). When i run the sorcerer it takes a while to compile into pnf and will install the files. If i apply Custom activity to run dpinst with /lm /s switch information technology just installs the MSI simply not INF file.
I have placed dpinst forth with CAT file and INF file.
PS: Its a pdiport device driver.Equally per the true cat file it is digitally signed by Portrait dispalys, Inc.
Can anyone help me out please?
Cheers,
Ash

I am able to install manually with DPInst /lm /s. I take set the aforementioned switches in the MSI. So non sure of the result hither..
...cheque the sequencing of your CA - make sure information technology's sequenced as deffered in a system context, somewhere after InstallFiles and before InstallFinalize.
information technology just installs the MSI but not INF file
- and if your MSI doesn't install your INF file in the outset place, you lot need to start looking at your component/feature states etc as opposed to DPInst for now, because that file needs to be on the system earlier DPInst runs. Yous also need to check every other file used by the INF (SourceDisksFiles department in the INF file, the CAT etc) exists on the system likewise.
To add some more, Awarding is called Colormunki, this is actually a setup.exe and at the end of the installation it extracts some exe along with the other files to tmp folder installs drivers and deletes apace from at that place.(Also the certification related folders ). It is calling internally some of the exe's to install services besides. (Kernel+win32).
Yup, I have taken care of all these....
Previously, in one of my awarding, I used dpinst.exe /F /SW /LM. It worked for me.

I mean silent switch for setup.exe
Im not reffering to Dpinst hither
If you're using InstallShield, yous may use their Device Driver part and I'm sure they take if in Wise besides.
And if you don't become the above you can create it yourself in your MSI something chosen DIFxApp

Using these eliminates the use of Custom Deportment
Deplorable guys i had taken a while to reply back to the posts.
Though i was successful in installing drivers with DPInst i still accept issues :-(
I accept got the hardware with me now and when i coonect the device its even so not finding drivers and coming upwardly with new hardware found sorcerer. I can see the PNF's compiled in INf folder. When i see the device mgr i can nevertheless see the yellow warning.
Can anyone permit me know if we nevertheless need to search for registry keys if missing? I m not sure of what am i missing here. I thought the DPinst would take care of the drivers and the related stuffs.
Please let me know your comments....
DIFxApp is a relatively simple wrapper for DPInst.
Suma, y'all say " i was successful in installing drivers with DPInst" but you clearly weren't if yous're notwithstanding getting the prompt! :)
- Is the driver signed?
- Did the driver file actually get copied?
Can you lot please allow me know how to conclude if the drivers are signed or unsigned?
Driver file yous mean the .sys file? It is not getting copied to driver binder nether system32. Basically i accept ii INF'south. One is getting copied where the other is not.

Check the properties for the .CAT file.
Says Digital Signature OK.
